The First International Conference on Embedded Systems & Critical Applications (ICESCA’08) seeks contributions from researchers and practitioners interested in modeling, analysis, and implementation of hardware and software aspects of real time embedded systems.

The conference addresses all aspects of research for embedded systems engineering. It covers the design process, test, and tools for design automation of software systems ranging from integrated circuits to distributed large-scale systems. This includes both hardware and embedded software design issues. The conference scope also includes the elaboration of design requirements and new architectures for challenging application fields such as telecom, wireless communications, multimedia, medical and automotive systems. Persons involved in innovative industrial designs are particularly encouraged to submit papers to foster the feedback from design to research.

Main Topics of interest:

Modeling & analysis of embedded systems:

Metamodeling and Model-driven development methodologies, approaches and languages / Domain-specific languages and modeling language semantics / ...

Embedded systems solutions: Innovative and emerging technologies:

DSP based design / FPGA based design / Embedded memory / Multiprocessors and network on chip / Reconfigurable SOC

Embedded systems design:

ASIC and IC design tools / System level specification and modeling / Design verification  / Web-based design tools / …

Software for embedded systems :

Embedded OS and RTOS / Network protocols and middleware for embedded systems / Application software for embedded systems

Embedded systems security and fault tolerance
Embedded systems critical applications:

Medical applications / Automotive and Industrial control / Sensors networks / Video processing / Wireless communication

Submission instructions

Authors are invited to submit original, unpublished research work. The working language of the conference is English. Paper submission should be complete manuscripts of a maximum six pages (about 5000 words) that clearly state the novel ideas, results and applications of the contribution. The manuscript should follow the instructions given in the author’s kit of the conference web site.

Submission will only be accepted electronically via ICESCA homepage in PDF or MS Word formats.

Accepted papers will be published in printed proceedings. One author of each accepted paper should present it at the conference.
